Injectables

Skin Boosters

Micro-injections of hyaluronic acid spread across an area to support skin hydration and quality.

What is it?

Skin boosters involve a series of small injections of hyaluronic acid distributed evenly across an area, rather than placed at a single point to create volume. The aim is to support the hydration and overall quality of the skin. They are usually given as a course of sessions rather than a one-off treatment.

What it is designed to address

  • Skin that feels dry or lacks hydration
  • Overall skin quality and texture
  • Areas such as the face, neck and backs of the hands

What happens at your appointment

Your appointment begins with a face-to-face consultation with your prescriber. She will take a full medical history, discuss what you are hoping to achieve, examine the area, and explain what is and is not realistic. If treatment is clinically appropriate and you wish to go ahead, you will give written consent and the treatment is carried out in the same visit.

Results

Skin boosters work gradually over a course of treatments rather than producing an immediate change. Your clinician will explain what a typical course involves and what you can realistically expect.

Aftercare

You will be given a written aftercare plan before you leave, specific to the treatment you have had. As a general principle, avoid heat, strenuous exercise, alcohol and make-up on the treated area for the period your clinician specifies, protect the area from the sun, and contact the clinic if anything concerns you.

Frequently asked questions

This depends on the product used and your skin. Your clinician will recommend a course at your consultation and explain the reasoning.
